What’s Included in a Deep Clean (And What’s Not)

A deep clean isn’t a quick tidy-up or a magic wand — it’s a detailed, top-to-bottom reset for your home. If you’ve never hired a professional cleaner before, this post will tell you exactly what to expect… and what not to assume.

Let’s break it down.

✅ What Is Included in a Deep Clean

A deep clean focuses on built-up grime, neglected areas, and the stuff that doesn’t get touched during regular cleanings.

Throughout the Home

Dusting all surfaces
Baseboards, window sills, vents, light fixtures, ceiling fans
Doors, door frames, and light switches
Cobweb removal
Vacuuming carpets and rugs
Sweeping and mopping hard floors
Trash removal

Kitchen

Countertops and backsplash
Exterior of appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher)
Inside microwave
Sink and faucet
Cabinet fronts and handles
Degreasing high-touch and buildup areas

Bathrooms

Toilets, sinks, tubs, and showers scrubbed and disinfected
Soap scum and buildup removal
Mirrors and glass
Fixtures and faucets
Cabinet and drawer fronts (exterior)

Bedrooms & Living Areas

Dusting furniture and décor
Vacuuming floors and rugs
Bed making (upon request, with clean linens provided)

INCLUDED IF REQUESTED:

Inside ovens, refrigerators, or dishwashers
Inside cabinets or drawers
Interior windows or window tracks
Laundry or dishwashing
Decluttering or organizing
Biohazard or bodily-fluid cleanup
Hoarding clean outs

All of these tasks take special supplies and/or a lot of extra time which means it’s going to cost more.

❌ What Is Not Included in a Standard Deep Clean

This part matters — a lot. A deep clean is not organizing or restoration work.

Not Included (For Safety Reasons):

Mold remediation
Areas that are unsafe, inaccessible, or structurally compromised
Exterior cleaning or outdoor areas. (We DO clean the outside of glass doors as long as nervous or aggressive pets aren't secured in the area.)

🧠 Why This Matters

Deep cleans take more time, labor, and detail than maintenance cleanings — which is why pricing is higher. ($300-$700+)

No awkward surprises on cleaning day

If something is significantly dirtier or more cluttered than it was during the consultation, additional time or charges may apply. Honesty upfront helps everyone.

✨ Is a Deep Clean Right for You?

A deep clean is the best option if:

It’s your first professional cleaning
Your home hasn’t been cleaned in a while
You’re preparing for recurring service
You’re resetting your space

After that, regular maintenance cleanings keep everything looking great.

Not everyone can afford a deep clean so we do offer gradual deep cleans. Gradual deep cleans are regularly scheduled appointments (weekly, biweekly, or monthly). At each appointment we deep clean 1-2 areas that you deem your priority areas and then we also perform a maintenance clean on the areas we have previously deep cleaned. We repeat this process until the whole home is clean. This breaks the cost up into manageable amounts all while giving you the help in areas that are most important to you.
